Well, if you retain rights to monetisation, you are removing a lot of incentive for research... the damage is done, no matter if you open source it or not.
@croselund I'm am optimistic that we can get the energy transition done AND keep democracy intact.
The problem with the government setting the interest rates is that it typically ends in a runaway inflation a la Turkey or Weimar.
