@amy it's one of those posthumous books where he's just Going Off but i like how he goes off in it
was just pilfering for notes on an unrelated article and came across that excerpt and was like "oh yea right, that's a good excerpt"
with the caveat that i have a "postural ethics" -- that is to say, i try to take a "Loving Orientation" to the world, and that means loving others and serving them is also part of my orientation ? and i feel like limitation and abstention are within a spectrum here. i think insofar as i never really forget what's literally happening, what i'm literally doing, i can be a bit loose
i think this is the most succinct description of my feelings on dietary ethics, from Jacques Ellul's "Theology and Technique"...
