Running an IC-7100 and MFJ939 tuner to a Cobra Ultralite Kid in the QTH shack for HF and a Comet dual-band + DSTAR for VHF/UHF.

For portable ops, running a Yaesu FT-891 with an MFJ 939 tuner to a Buddipole.

Run mainly FT8 right now, using systems built on Build-a-pi and DragonOS.

@JohnFisher @ai6yr I got to meet him real briefly during a training exercise MANY years ago when I used to be a civilian volunteer for VCFD. I was very impressed.

I manage a few properties for this type of situation. I have a 5 BR in Thousand Oaks by Wildwood that may be coming available in early December.

@ai6yr Yesterday was a lot worse though. First time I've seen an S9+ storm level.
@ai6yr I tried to get @W6KME on his SOTA activation but no luck. 20m -40m is just rough. Managed to get one of the AF MARS stations on 15m voice and FT8 is busy as all heck right now. 75-100 calls in progress on 15 and 10. I've managed 42 QSOs between FT4 and FT8 on 10 to 15. Still trying to get the Godzilla station.

I guess it depends on which employers those are and what your hours are. :)

45 minutes, at the right time of day, can get you to Santa Monica. Beach Body used to be there. Rand corp is there. Several investment companies are there too.

Thousand Oaks has most of the big biotech names and we're 45 minutes or less from the Navy bases.

If you want to work in downtown LA for those names, best off living near there. Traffic is insane!

Yep. I've had buyer clients like that out here back in 2019(ish). Thousand Oaks would be them against 20 other offers. Woodland Hills... fuggedaboudit, they'd be up against 60-80 other offers.
