Tech guy with varied interest.

I want to actively used this account. If threads.net starts to interoperate with it using ActivityPub.

They don't even have a web login so far! Perhaps I can wait till web login.

@paulg In case you don't find it, good thing is you can switch to some other federated node, which has that. Mine has, for example.

@paulg I am sure you made several people including me, chase you down here :)

I think, we need social networks to work like SMTP (Jack's idea. Not really his, but doesn't matter). Investing everything on one company owned network, is too risky Facebook or Twitter.

Howdy!

@milcom Yes, you could try it some time. But long distance buses may not give the same feeling.

Because your comment reminded me. That I did actually take the bus to airport and back occasionally in the last few years.

But still learnt a lot: Google Maps for bus travel is fairly decent. Buses are normally still arriving, when it says passed in 1 minute. It can be made better. Also I noticed, it was not tracking my walk (I walked a good deal a KM or so to reach a proper bus stop)

Today, I went on an errand, and on the way back wanted to take the bus. Missed an empty one (meaning which had some seats free), then remaining were with people standing already.
Didn't have the guts to take it, and let them go. After some 15-20 minues took an Uber back, tail between the legs. (Will try another day, hopefully soon)

PS: Haven't taken a bus in long time. (WFH, and so no regular travel)

The first comment over there 100% echos my thoughts as well.
