What I've been doing: this cool history project with the unflappable @kfarr
It's entitled "Treat: Past, Present, Future" (www.treatfuture.com) and it will be unveiled tomorrow at 10am on Treat Plaza.
It documents the past of Mission Creek as a shaper of land, a beloved natural resource and a 19th-century public health menace.
We're not sure what the future holds for Mission Creek, so we're asking the question now: in the future, where will the water go?
Join us tomorrow for the first of 8 activations.

Combine Google Maps 3D Tiles and LumaLabs Gaussian splat scans via A-Frame and three.js for high fidelity at tiny scale AND zoomable out to city scale all in the browser.

🙏 Thanks glitch for hosting, playcanvas for supersplat editor, NYTimes R&D team for 3dtiles component

3DStreet Core 0.4.11 - 6 Mar 2024

Approximate route the creek would follow. All publicly owned land except one block where it’s a public easement.

You can see how with careful intersection design/signals/signage this also makes a great bike route, connecting Townsend (from Caltrain/ballpark to the northeast) to 17th St (west to the Castro) and Shotwell (south to Bernal Heights).
