If you didn't know, Uber Eats tells you the languages your delivery driver speaks in their profile. I'm in awe at the driver en route to me, who knows English, Hindi, Bengali AND Japanese.
Me? I can read *some* text and speak a few words in some romance languages and minimal Welsh. I don't actually speak anything fluently apart from English.
@tom @tom Honestly, I can see Twitter just self-imploding in the next couple of years. Between blue-ticked bigots and the ship no longer (reportedly) properly being maintained due to exiled engineers, Musk's whims etc.
Keeping my profile on there for now, but I don't know how long for. Personally been finding a calmer, more productive and hugely less anxiety-inducing existence in my adopted part of the Fedi.
@stux I've been thinking about this, and I guess it's because democratic/decentralised approaches to running anything usually resolve to what benefits the majority. Whereas environments with singular owners/entities are predisposed to self-serve.
Something like that, anyhow.
