加油中国,把共产党粪出来! This account is where I'm gonna talk politics.

This is an excellent illustration of a phenomenon I've long noticed. When illegal immigration is argued over, the "left"' makes shifting arguments. On one hand, there's the "these are jobs nobody else will take and any claims of jobs lost to illegal workers are lies" argument, and at the same time we see the "Rounding people up who've built lives here and have families and real jobs and they pay taxes under a false SSN and it's not fair" argument. These arguments are invariably made in different contexts, but often from the same people.

The former argument is nearly true, because we've spent the last 40 years pushing our kids into white collar employment that's less and less lucrative, and their replacements being undocumented has helped to undermine the reach of unions, pushing wages down there as well.

The latter argument suggests that "dey terk er jerbs" isn't quite the lie it's made out to be. Less so before than now.

Throwing 'em all out is gonna hurt.
