I really enjoyed the Matt Reeves Apes Trilogy and it seems like new director Wes Ball has wisely taken the, 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' approach with this new installment set 'many generations' after Caesar's story arc concluded. Kingdom is a solid piece of storytelling with good acting and believable and at times intriguing worldbuilding. It also sticks closely to the 'show don't tell' mantra so I was really engaged from the start in piecing together what this new ape world was like. A nice piece of early misdirection means the threat to this new world is unexpected
