Enthusiastic about doing things early: university at age 14; AppKit on NeXT in 1989; apps on launch days for Mac OS X, iPhone, iPad, watchOS, and visionOS.

Gamer. Helped Wizards launch Magic: the Gathering. Helped with Doom on NeXT; with Quake, Oni, and Fallout 1/2 on Mac OS X.

@nilskassube The "all over the world" part does seem to still apply: in addition to meeting that developer from Vietnam, yesterday I met developers from Australia, Austria, England, Germany, Japan, and other locations. But I did have to be more intentional to make that happen. I agree: I miss the spontaneity of random WWDC encounters when walking around the city.

The folks cheering developers as they come and go from WWDC certainly have a ton of energy! (I'm glad to see the joy it brings some folks! Though, personally, I think I'm going to follow the lead of the developers I just saw slip quietly around the outside, bypassing most of the cheering.)

@Jargoonco I did! I thought it was really well done. The quirkiness was not only entertaining, I think it also helps the viewer distance themselves. (Useful both for emotional distance from serious subjects being portrayed, and for perspective on our own behaviors.)
