Odd juxtaposition in the phone notifications.

Today’s Google doodle is a mime. 😩 Granted, it’s the greatest mime of all time, but…a mime. 🫤

With two adult kids out of the nest, we were able to finish wrapping by midnight. We also talked ourselves into putting lights on and decorating the tree tonight. We were strongly considering a “natural” (fake) tree this year that would be undecorated.

There was a distinct lack of holiday cheer at Walmart at 6:20 am, two days before Christmas, but I got the candy for the kids stockings so I’m done (except for one last gift card that I need to get elsewhere). Sadly, the chocolate oranges (which are about 1/3 the size they used to be) were only available in dark chocolate 🤢 and some abomination called “popping candy.” 🙁

If your kid says you’re “slaying” your new septum piercing (at age 53, ha, I’m a late bloomer)…is that good?

My poor bunny gets mats if not regularly groomed (even when brushed daily) but he’s so pitiful right after they shave him - he acts like he’s freezing (it’s 70 in here) 😩

The good news is that I don’t feel guilty not cooking for the holiday because of my broken foot. The bad news is that having a broken foot sucks.

This may seem dumb, but my local CVS had the same manager for at least 10 years. She would ask about my kids, my spouse, and always say hello. It was nice to see a friendly face when I went there. She left (I think she retired, although I'm not sure) and I miss her!

And sometimes interlibrary loan fails you and you have to pay $20 on the used book market.
