Interesting how much conceptual and practical progress is being made with thinking of LLMs as embodied and interacting with an environment, rather than standalone input/output tools.

@josephschmitt Was just released yesterday! The conceptual basis for it has existed within the LLM community for a bit, but it’s being operationalized now in ChatGPT and langchain
For me, the most exciting part of the mobile revolution was how multitouch, high res screens, and internet connectivity afforded us a chance to rethink UX and the sorts of things we use computers for altogether. The iPad especially struck that chord with me.
The period we are entering now with LLMs is that 1,000x. Mobile was all about human-computer interaction; this is human-computer interaction, computer-computer interaction, and redefining computing altogether. At one time.
It’s difficult not to conclude that LLMs will become a new, and vital, computational processor.
The App Store effect of tools/plugins within ChatGPT is going to be overwhelming.
