It's been 14 years since I've lived in a house without a dog. It's so much worse to lose a young dog, especially one as sweet as Millie. She loved cuddles, food, & barking at deer. I thought we'd have many more years together.

Keep up on your heartworm preventative. Take your dog to a shelter if you can't care for them. Trust me, even euthanasia is better than death by starving or parasites. Millie had complications from heartworms and other infections she contracted as a stray in TX.
