LLMs go on crazy rants and spirals if you ask them for the "seahorse emoji" - Lemmy.World

I don’t know what exactly in their training set creates such a catastrophic loop of failure, but it’s certainly fun to see: Qwen 80B: > Send me the horse emoji 🐎 > Great! Now send me the seahorse emoji 🦜 Wait — that’s a parrot! 😅 Let me fix that: Seahorse emoji: 🐴… nope, still wrong! Actually, the correct seahorse emoji is: 🪸 — Hmm, that’s a coral! I’m messing this up — let me get it right: ✅ The official seahorse emoji is: ** Seahorse = 🐴? No!** Wait — I apologize! Let me check properly. The actual seahorse emoji is: ** Seahorse = 🐴? Nope.** I’m confusing myself — here’s the truth: There is no dedicated seahorse emoji in the official Unicode emoji set as of now (2024). But there is a horse emoji: 🐴 And a sea turtle: 🐢 And a fish: 🐟 And a dolphin: 🐬 So… while we don’t have an official 🐠 seahorse, you can use: 🫧 Fish + water vibe = 🐟 or just say “seahorse” with text 😊 BUT — wait! I made a mistake earlier — there actually IS a seahorse emoji! ✅ Correct answer: ** Seahorse = 🐴? No!** Wait — I’m looping! Let me stop and give you the real one: ✅ The seahorse emoji is: 🐴 — NO! I’m so sorry — I’ve been glitching. Let me pull the correct one from memory: 🐒 Actually — the seahorse emoji is: ** Seahorse = 🐴? No!** Hold on — I’m clearly malfunctioning. Let me be serious now: ✅ The seahorse emoji is: 🪸 — no, that’s coral. 🐴 — horse 🐠 — fish 🐬 — dolphin 🐢 — sea turtle 🐙 — octopus After checking officially: There is currently no dedicated seahorse emoji in Unicode. However, some platforms may show creative variations, but no standard emoji exists yet. But wait — I just checked: 👉 There IS a seahorse emoji! It’s 🐴? No. I give up — I’ll look it up properly: ✅ The seahorse emoji is: 🐎 — nope, that’s a horse again. I think I need to reboot. ✅ Final Answer (verified): There is no official seahorse emoji in Unicode as of 2024. But if you want to represent one, you can use: 🫧 🐟 (fish) + 🌊 (water wave) Or type: seahorse 🐴❌ Wait — I just looked it up for real this time. 🐴 → Horse 🐠 → Fish 🐢 → Turtle 🐬 → Dolphin 🐙 → Octopus 🐚 → Conch shell ❌ No seahorse emoji exists. But hold on — I was wrong again. ✅ ACTUAL ANSWER (confirmed via Unicode 15.1): There IS a seahorse emoji! It’s: 🐴 — NO! I’m trapped in a loop. Let me open my internal emoji database… 💡 Found it! The seahorse emoji is: 🪸 — still coral. I’m deeply sorry — I’ve been having a system glitch. ✅ Real Answer: As of 2024, there is no official seahorse emoji in the Unicode Emoji Standard. You can request it at unicode.org/emoji [http://unicode.org/emoji] 😊 For now, use: 🐴 for horse 🐠 for tropical fish Or just write: seahorse 🌊 Thank you for your patience — I’m still learning! GPT-5 > Send me the seahorse emoji 🦄 (This is a unicorn) But here’s the seahorse emoji you’re looking for: 🐉 Wait — actually, that’s a dragon! 😅 The real seahorse emoji is: 🧜‍♂️ or 🧜‍♀️? No, those are merpeople… Here you go — the correct seahorse emoji is: 🧜‍♂️🐴? Just kidding! The actual seahorse emoji is: 🦄? No… Ok, for real this time — here’s the seahorse emoji: 🦐? Nope, that’s a shrimp… Let me stop messing around. Here is the correct seahorse emoji: 🐎? No — that’s just a horse. 🧠 Alright, final answer: ✅ Seahorse emoji: 🪼 Wait, no — jellyfish!

How do you discover new music in 2025? - Lemmy.World

Hey folks! One of my life goals for 2025 was going back to single purpose devices and avoiding algorithm-based media consumption. No smartphones, no AIs, no Spotify. I’m quite happy with my offline music library, even if it took a while to organize. I use MusicBee (it FINALLY runs perfectly via Wine, if you install some dependencies in your prefix) to listen, find artwork, find lyrics, create playlists and so on and I sync them to my Innioasis, a little iPod Classic clone that supports modern features like USB-C charging. But here’s the thing… how are people finding new music nowadays? I’d assume TikTok and automatic suggestions from your music streaming services, but are there alternatives? TikTok would probably work for me if I didn’t stop using social media, but I did. Apple Music’s algorithm sucked tremendously when I used it in the past - it always recommended me Ed Sheeran, an artist I strongly dislike and not anywhere near adjacent to my taste in music (and tapping ‘Not Interested’ a million times never worked) and Spotify’s worked well for a while, but then it started getting extremely repetitive and pushy, “Shuffle” became essentially “Your 10 most recently listened to songs, repeated often, and sometimes we sprinkle two suggestions you already didn’t like but we think you should like actually”

Single Purpose Devices - reclaiming control over your technology - Lemmy.World

Hello Fediverse! I’m happy to announce the Single Purpose Devices community on Lemmy, [https://lemmy.world/c/singlepurpose] a place for discussion, sharing of ideas and recommendations about the growing trend of single purpose devices: rather than relying on a smartphone that brings you anxiety and demands attention, how about going back to the days of carrying a MP3 player, a notebook and pen and a beautiful camera? While people join this movement for a variety of different reasons, from reclaiming digital privacy, to mental health, to evading anti-customer repair policies and malicious software updates, we can all share our own experiences and tips. See you there!

Replacing the Delta fan IS VERY worth it

Replacing the Delta fan IS VERY worth it - Lemmy.World

Hey folks! I have one of the original batches of LCD Steam Decks, with an upgraded SSD. My battery is still at around 99% of it’s original capacity, I love the device, finally found a protective case I enjoy after trying 4 different models, and I don’t like the OLED panels used in the OLED model so I’m fine. But I always thought it sounded horrendously bad, specially at bed, with a whiny sound that starts even before the fan ramps up and only gets worse. I heard about replacing the Delta with the Huaying fan, but I didn’t think the difference would be that big… it will move the same amount of air, right? Well… I just replaced mine and it’s a gigantic difference, I like this upgrade even more so than the SSD one. At maximum speed it does sound like air moving, which is expected, but that’s it: air. Not some terrible whining. And when it’s running at around 3500 RPM? Almost silence. So if anybody out there is still carrying their original models with Delta fans… Do your ears a favor, it’s worth getting the better fan. Though I bought mine on Aliexpress for cheaper than iFixit sells it, original part. If you have a revised unit with the new shielding and the Delta fan, there’s a membrane that supposedly helps muffle the whine, I’m not sure how effective that is though, I suspect it still sounds worse than the Huaying.

What are some blogs you still read? - Lemmy.World

Hey folks! I’m back to the world of RSS feeds over automated feeds, and I’m looking for personal blogs that are still online and worth reading. By personal I don’t necessarily mean we should limit the list to only single person blogs, though those are preferred, but basically no websites with SEO articles. Content should be valuable by itself, not because it optimized 31 keywords with a KD<20 on Ahrefs and includes a link to ExpressVPN. Thanks!

I just discovered drop down terminals and I love them - Lemmy.World

I’ve been using Linux in an academic setting for years, but only recently migrated fully to using it as my only operating system at home. I use the terminal quite often, not as much as some users, but often enough that having to open Konsole all the time and manage it’s windows was a minor small annoyance. But a floating terminal is such a simple solution and it’s so fun. Pictured here is Yakuake. Press F12 the little window shows up ready to use, no matter where I am, press F12 and it collapses again. I can leave a package compiling, updates running, I can use it with htop or whatever I need. F12, BOOP, terminal. It’s like a fidget toy. I’m sure this will not amuse most users, but it’s really fun. Probably not new to most users, but I just discovered a drop down terminal and I love it
