Finished reading: There is No Antimemetics Division by Qntm 📚

One of those books that leads you to immediately want to know what others think happened in the book. Christopher Nolan could have some fun with it. https://micro.blog/books/9798721503788

There is No Antimemetics Division

I keep thinking about how much the playing surface comes into play with the Winter Olympics, while struggling to come up with similar situations in the Summer Olympics. Whether it is on snow or ice, the most athletic, most prepared athlete can find themselves far off the podium because they found a bad spot on the surface or conditions deteriorated. Maybe that’s part of the fun of the Winter Olympiad — as long as they can stay upright, nobody is ever completely out of it.
Time for some old discs to finally stop taking up room here… here’s just a few of many

Big Tech: "Introducing AI that can hallucinate answers to questions you didn't ask"
Vivaldi: "We made the most advanced tab multitasking system ever built”
Big Tech: "But AI is the future…."
Vivaldi: "Cool. Our future includes a browser the user controls, and it shipped today"
Big Tech: "You're missing the point…."
Vivaldi: "You're missing the download link"

Vivaldi 7.8. No bullshit. Just love for tabs and our users

While I sure hate the impending extreme cold for those that are homeless or have difficult heating their homes, it will certainly emphasize the “winter” in Winter Field Day ( https://winterfieldday.org ) this weekend. I’m looking forward to our annual Nerd Cabin.
I’m pretty sure that Husband is just and earlier form of Houseband: One(s) to keep others entertained while the primary talent is busy.
32 attended. 30 got their license. That’s a good number of new operators in the area. I hope to hear many of them on the nightly 9pm net here in town in the coming weeks. You can’t get a license and a radio, then put them in a drawer until that disaster strikes. Check in once a month at least, just to know everything works—if that’s why you have it.
