Good morning modal filter! It seems the city has finally replaced the old gate across grove street with posts to allow bikes and emergency vehicles through. Love these simple street upgrades.

While waiting for a Medford/Tufts train I finally looked up what those extra tracks on the inside of the green line tracks are for (guard rails to keep the train in position in the event of a derailment) and we got to see some old-school safety practices as the train operators passed a green flag between trains signalling the tunnel was clear.

Came across this updated iconography for the first time today, and nobody asked, but boy do I like it better. Apparently it's a Whole Thing and now I've gone down a rabbit hole of ISO rulings and FHA decisions.

Looks like they're pouring cement for the sidewalks/curb extensions in #ballsquare #somerville today.

Fresh new asphalt for Ball Square ahead of the GLX opening later this month. New crosswalks and bump outs are a much needed improvement.
