🇵🇸 With your help we will donate 100% of the profits from Less Is Sound 2025 to Thamra – a Palestinian initiative working on food sovereignty in a time of Israel-imposed starvation in Gaza.
We live in a time when entire histories and worlds are being erased – when countless lives, both human and more-than-human*, end under the fire of fascist, terrorist and repressive regimes. The brutality of attacks in Congo, Yemen and Ukraine, the genocide of the Palestinian people, the genocide of the Rohingya in Myanmar, the Masalit in Sudan, the Uyghurs in China, and the Tigrayans in Ethiopia is not something that can be fully captured by language.
The genocide of the Palestinian people executed by the apartheid ethno-state of Israel (the first genocide streamed live to our phones) has exposed the hypocrisy of most Western leaders and much of the media – both liberal and conservative. Many multinational corporations directly profit from this apocalypse, while the governments of the US, UK, Germany, and the EU (including Slovakia) are directly complicit. And despite the ever growing public pressure, the end of this horror remains nowhere in sight. The more horrifying images we see, the more empty words and lies we hear.
Since the beginning of this project, we’ve placed great emphasis on the small, invisible, fragile, and fleeting. Even the tiniest sound has its place in the acoustic ecology.
In this spirit, we will donate 100% of this year’s profits to Thamra, an initiative working on food sovereignty during Israel-imposed starvation in Gaza.
We’re deeply grateful for your support.
Thank you.
