Forget the weird machines the USians are annoying everyone with, it's TGV tuesday.

We started a rewatch of The Good Place. All the jokes with Janet seem so much more relevant today than back in the day.

I've got a new blog article: "Training an LLM in Swift, Part 1: Taking matrix multiplication from Gflop/s to Tflop/s"

Clunky title, I know. Also, fair warning: there's nearly as much assembly, C and Metal as Swift in the article. So the title is clunky *and* misleading.

But I had fun writing it (the code, not the title).

Ooh boy, it's Friday and it's Taskmaster UK season!

Season 21's first episode dropped yesterday and I've been saving it for a weekend starter with some burritos and tacos and sunshine.

We're in a great Taskmaster era again: UK's 21st, Finland's 7th (they are finally getting better), Estonia's 1st season are on the way and the Netherlands' first season was just revealed 😍

I wrote a post about something that's a little hidden in Anthropic's focus on cybersecurity for its next model. Then I did something which turned the whole thing a little more dark.

Credit where it's due. Anthropic's system card for Claude Mythos Preview is a genuinely interesting and thoughtful document. Most AI companies publish safety evaluations the way governments publish freedom of information responses. They're technically compliant but strategically uninformative. And that's usually deliberate, because the last thing that's good for business
