Art imitates life: huffpost.com/…/trump-troops-iran-war-israel_n_69b… … I know it’s just one article, and it’s HuffPo … but it is just the first one I found this morning. My own contacts agree morale is low, and not just for those in uniform. Civil service types are not happy either. Like, the ones that help ensure logistics flow, intelligence flows, provide depot MX support, etc. It is wide spread and coming on the heals of a massive exodus of expertise. I just had a former client reach out to me 4 weeks ago about a potential direct-hire job opportunity but I didn’t see it until last last week. When I replied back their response was, “yeah you don’t want this now. Things are not good around here.” IT’S THEIR BRANCH THEY ARE HIRING FOR! Think about that, they just said, effectively, ‘don’t come work for me, it isn’t worth it’
“An Absolute Disaster”: Troops Express Fears As Trump Expands Iran War

The possibility of an American ground operation in Iran is growing, but one service member familiar with troops in the region told HuffPost the prospect would be "an absolute disaster."

HuffPost
No less a self-own because it was in your (our) own head!!!
yeah I didn’t figure it was true. but had to say it still just in case. And whoever wrote it knew what they were implying / trying to generate internet feelings. Because again, it would be epic bad if troops in training, this early in, were THAT cynical.
No. An honest assessment about just how bad it is if you’re troops are already THAT cynical before they even leave garrison and aren’t trying to hide it. I doubt it’s true though.
100%
If it really is true, I cannot stress enough just how bad it is. Like, really really bad.
You don’t know the ostriches I know man … some scary shit I tell ya.
No. I leave as an exercise for the reader to understand why.

I do. In fact as part of the reddit exodus, and the shut down of hardocp, I found myself going over there more often as part of my “scan of the internet”.

six digits here too, loooooowwww six digits.

6" Extension cord. Just so it hangs below the I-beam instead of literally tucked inside the I and shielding it from like 75% of the house. Even the multi sensor 3ft away, but on the other side of the beam would rather talk to other nodes!
