@goodlawproject One assumes that the cost of the storage and destruction of unusable items is being taken from the NHS budget just like the purchase cost was.
@jtonline @nataliesedacca @davidallengreen well jtonline, you think it should protect everyone and so do I but I really cant imagine that Owen Patterson thinks the same.
@mamiepoule and me mamiepoule. You sound like you're living a good life. I am a little jealous. Not that I have a bad life, its just not in France.
@PeterStefanovic I recall being lambasted on a picket line for eating a sandwich and holding a coffee. " You should be working not standing there stuffing your face". I was on my lunch break. Also not at all surprised to find that the minimum staffing levels that had to be adhered to were in fact the usual staffing levels.
Keir Starmer says he will take away the power of the PM to make appointments to the House of Lords because public confidence has been reduced after the appointment of party lackeys and donors.
Good. Shut the whole place down.
@christineburns @RussInCheshire I've learned that you can laugh out loud whilst also having a sense of despair because of reading this book. I haven't finished because I keep having to put it down purely for reasons of blood pressure control.
£3.3bn for the NHS sounds a lot but it's less than 1% increase in funding. How much of that stays within the NHS. I think we should be told how much of 'NHS funding' immediately wing's its way out of the door into the coffers of private providers of clinical services. And while I'm on a rant, how come private hospitals are allowed charitable status while NHS aren't? NHS hospitals pay business rates while charities get an 80% rebate. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
@RussInCheshire I thought the whole argument was that we need to deal with this now and not kick the can down the road which is exactly what they've just done. They want to deal with it after the next election when their argument will be a return to 'the good times are just over the hill' or round the corner or wherever they are now.
Social workers in Derbyshire have apparently been told not to ask the question "Who is the Prime minister?" during dementia assessments as the occupant of this position has changed so often. I generally felt this was an irrelevant question to ask during a very person specific assessment of capacity anyway. How does knowing who the current PM is have any bearing on their understanding of their care needs or deciding their level of risk? Far more important to know if they can make a drink unaided.
Hi everyone. First Post here and first ever. Too scared to post on twitter, I just read and tried to block the crazies.
It will take me a while but eventually I'll get the hang and join in. Apologies in advance for errors.
