This will not come as a surprise to folks here on mastodon, but ever since I started posting heavily about Gaza and cease fire on FB, the site is "processing" all my posts for unstated reasons. I'm clear on the cost of for profit social media for movement work. And, of course, most people are not here yet. A critical challenge to be sure. Thanks for being here.
In addition to GTMD, I am donating today to Jewish Voice for Peace https://www.jewishvoiceforpeace.org and Medical Aid for Palestinians https://www.map.org.uk, at the suggestion of Rights Action, an international human rights organization that I trust. The need is urgent. Please consider a donation if you are able.

Wouldn't it be delicious if this opportunism on the industry's part is what causes a similar reckoning more broadly.

Never forget that nearly half of the Pentagon budget goes to private contractors.

Investigations show these companies make egregious profits overcharging DoD.

The Senate is now debating an $886 billion defense bill.

Let’s call it what it is: corporate welfare on steroids.

Mining companies say we need to mine more so car companies can help address the climate crisis.

Climate tipping points means change is not linear, happens faster and less predictable than current experience suggests. We should be shutting more stuff down. #climatechange

A collapse would bring catastrophic climate impacts but scientists disagree over the new analysis
