I am an engineer and technologist, but I mostly like words. In a previous life I traveled the world with the U.S. Navy. Unfortunately, from my vantage point it all looked like the inside of a submarine. I spend my free time hacking silver halides with decidedly low-tech gear and riding motorcycles around and around in circles.

An introduction:
I'm Jim Stogdill. I split my time between NYC and the suburbs of Philadelphia. I'm a photographer that still works with traditional materials. I started my career in the U.S. Navy as a nuc machinists mate and then as a submarine officer. The bulk of my career has been in information technology - financial services, sourcing and logistics, defense, and tech publishing. I ran O'Reilly Media's Radar before going independent.
