@taylorlorenz The quality and though on some of the toys now is awful. Board games come to mind. May have been more expensive for some of the same toys in the 80s and 90s… but things like hungry hungry hippos now completely unusable

@pollak maybe because back half of the summer was pretty dry and concentrated the sweetness? Don’t know if that was it, but I’ll take it. Also, I got a bad bag of organic honeycrisp that came from Washington. As an apple snob I usually have concluded I stick with apples from the Midwest where not shipping far and skip WA ones when I can 😂

@pollak Apple Store at Connor prairie continues to get new varieties in weekly from Garwood Orchard. Haven’t seen evercrisp this year, but summerset was good, snapdragon good, and currently working on ludacrisp. All good apples. Wasn’t quite as sold on the ambrosia bag that I bought.

It’s that time. Heading apple picking today (which completes the fruit picking seasons after already strawberry picking 3 months ago and blueberry picking late July).

@catladyactivist Go ahead and vote 3rd party or GOP… you’re not going to like what you get. Unlike Biden, they’re actively banning masking in GOP states like Texas and Florida and encouraging violence against those that do. According to a nurse friend of mine, the reason medical facilities dropped masking because they were losing too many people to that right wing message that masking is against their freedom. This will only spread if Biden doesn’t win. Burning it down is not a fix.

@catladyactivist I still completely disagree, when it’s a choice between Biden and fascism. People made that choice in 2016 when they fell for “Hillary and Trump are basically the same”. As a result we got 3 ultra conservative Supreme Court justices that overturned the right to abortion health care, and strengthened states rights and corporations. You keep wanting “Biden to do more” but he’s hamstung by the courts and the GOP controls congress. Once again, Biden isn’t the problem.

@QasimRashid Agreed, I also think the same and there are many he’s done I don’t agree with. The disconnect is where single voter issues getting angry with him say “I will not vote for him again”… thus electing whoever his opponent happens to be. Shortsighted, and not prudent since many of those same voters are going to be horrified by the judicial picks and policies that can last decades.
