@cabel I think it’s a bug in Tahoe. I’ve seen this happen occasionally on my 14” M1 MacBook Pro when it’s running on battery and the display dims before going to sleep.
@caseylisscom We’ve had US Mobile for the past two years, and my only regret is that we didn’t switch sooner. We have 6 GB of shared data between two iPhones and we only pay $26/month (including taxes and fees!). I honestly don’t understand why more people don’t use MVNOs!

@dnanian Had no idea you were a Dilla fan! Worlds are colliding!

(I highly recommend reading Dilla Time if you haven’t already!)

@noheger Holy crap! This kept happening to me and I thought it was my mouse flaking out or something. So they changed the visual corner radius without adjusting the click area to match…great. Really starting to regret updating to Tahoe.
@noheger @gruber Aside from looking bad, it’s not even consistent: the middle column is blurred when behind the toolbar, but the right column isn’t. And the left column is blurred even when it’s not directly behind the sidebar, which is both illogical and also inconsistent with other apps. It literally looks like a work in progress that they just went ahead and shipped anyway. Really sloppy!
@caseyliss looks like whoever wrote that review didn’t update to iOS 26 yet 😛
@caseyliss I just bought my first car with CarPlay earlier this year (complete with wireless charging). I got used to it *really* quickly and now would never even consider buying another car without it. I think any car manufacturer that doesn’t support it is shooting themselves in the foot.
@marcoarment now we know why he decided to sever...

@cabel I like the new one better overall; the background color in the bottom third to indicate the flavor is a nice touch. The old one has too much text and feels busier.

But it bothers me that the lowercase i’s in the new logo aren’t consistent: one has a dot over it and the other doesn’t!

@_Davidsmith reminds me of a similar type of problem I had with my old PowerBook G4: it would shut down at random while I was using it, due to a faulty heat sensor reporting it was overheating when it wasn’t. Even though it happened all the time at home (sometimes even multiple times a day!), it never happened when I brought it in for service! I eventually had to pay for the repair out of pocket because they wouldn’t cover it without being able to reproduce it.
