Doomerism like this is not healthy. Things are dire and will get worse for a long time, but the idea that civilisation is guaranteed to collapse is the kind of doom propaganda that fuels inaction. There is so much we can do, and the outcome for future generations better with every positive step we take. What we do does matter, and there’s a good chance our core societies will still be going strong in 50 years.
I don’t have a link but I believe this has absolutely been studied and it’s the same as what OP says above but specifically about fossil fuels. The amount of birds that die to wind turbines is significantly less than the amount of birds that die to the fossil fuel industry.
Oh, that’s a fair point then. I’d personally still err on some sort of basic pricing mishap, but perhaps you’re right. There definitely is intent to set prices for individuals live but it seems a little odd to be so clandestine about it.
You may not have a loyalty card, but did you pay using a payment card of any kind? They track you through that.
Not sure who OP is thinking but if you’ve been following UK politics at all I guess Lord Mandelson would be a candidate, though I don’t know if he’s really a big enough bombshell internationally.
I get that vibe. I’ve seen a different photo with an extremely similar background that was definitely AI. This is kind of the most average looking UK houses, no house numbers, no logo on the security decide. Definitely suspicious.
British, yeah. We just didn’t anticipate cereal being so sugary. I also couldn’t handle the drinks either lol. Seeing so many people drinking these huge drinks and knowing it was real sugar and not even a substitute is honestly one of my main memories of being in the US, which feels pretty sad. Amazing views at least!

I remember visiting some friends in the US they were so excited to have us try all the famous cereal brands like Fruit Loops etc. It was so sugary it was totally inedible to us, absolutely disgusting.

That said there obviously is cereal out there that can be eaten healthily.

That’s fair. I don’t have the knowledge to back it up but I would assume that a reduction in knife-based hospitalisations represents a reduction in gang violence even if there is still a lot of individual knife crime.

Thanks for clarifying and sorry for speaking for you 😅

To be fair, as far as I can tell the stats here are a bit misleading. Hospital visits from kinfe crime are down, but general knife crime was at its highest in 2025. I don’t know what the specifics are of that though.
