I get why browsers don’t support native markdown — then where would all the ads and tracking go? But it kind of makes me want to make a minimal little browser that registers for mdtp:// and just renders markdown fetched via http. Probably wouldn’t be viable without the ability to detect the presence of an installed app that handles it and a graceful fallback path, sadly.

It is 7 AM CEST. The EU citizen initiative calling for a ban on "conversion therapy" (here meaning, pseudoscientific attempts to "cure" LGBTQs) is less than 250,000 votes from success. This is astounding, the votes have like, *tripled* in a week.

The page says voting ends "May 17", and I wish I knew if that meant "at midnight tonight" or "midnight tomorrow" or what. Uh. Do you know

Hello, if you care about Servo, the alternative web browser engine that was originally slated to be the next gen Firefox but now is a donation-supported project under the Linux Foundation, you should know Servo announced a plan to as of June start allowing Servo code to be written by "Github Copilot":
