Checking out the state of RISC-V dev boards for research purposes (not an endorsement). This new board has a forum full of folks complaining about not being able to even boot it with basic bootloader output, let alone actually use it for anything productive
Machines are named after the lead architect who designed their CPU (duh), so for example we have Mike and Greg for these Ampere boxes. And Stephen for the 8086K special edition 😉
In addition to real datacenter rack gear I also have some secondary equipment in my home lab that is in desktop form factor. I’ve been rewiring stuff over the break and am about to add mini-4U shelves with the power cyclers, switches and console servers
