When wikipedia first came out, I remember a lot of people saying, "You can start there, but you can't trust it for anything important. Just rando people on the web make those articles..." Now, it's viewed as reliable but answers from LLMs are flagged with "Check for accuracy" messages. And they should be. I just think it's interesting that not long ago, the weirdo random wikipedia site was viewed as sketchy, but now is considered reasonably accurate.
