This was kind of the interesting thing for me when moving from Twitter: "What do I want to bring with me and what do I discard?" Maybe the new platforms don't need to feed the anger/engagement/profit cycle. What if I just bring woodworking, electronics, wine making, art, music, baking and general exploration, then ignore the other crap? I'm not sure it's possible, but I would really like to find out. If this interests you then give a follow and let's see what happens.
I also have a YouTube channel called "POV CNC" where I offer tutorials on CNC work, aimed mostly at woodworkers and newcomers to CNC. People seem to like it.

POV CNC with John Clark
This is my channel for exploring CNC with the Shapeoko and Carbide create. I work mainly in wood and have a bit of a box fetish. There may also be cat videos. You have been warned.
YouTubeI work as a consultant now with two of my favorite people on the planet and would not go back even for stupid money. I also put in a very limited amount of hours so I can pursue my other passion, which is making interesting stuff: woodworking, electronics, wine making, art, music, baking and general exploration. My woodworking/electronics projects are at

Google PhotosAnd then suddenly, there's an Internet. Sweet buttered Jesus! I must get all of this in my veins now, now, now. Dialup, BBS's, Kermit, Gopher and a little ISP company called MindSpring. I went to work for them in 1996, when the fastest thing you could get was 14.4 dialup modem. 14.4 kilobits per second... fuck I'm old. MindSpring both made and ruined me. They were hands down the best job I have ever had and I learned a ton... but I could never work for anyone else. (They also liked to drink.)
If music is your thing, I have a little over 2000 vinyl records and will happily talk your ear off about anything from Camel, Devo and Led Zepplin to Pete Yorn, Spoon and Minus The Bear. Send me new bands and I will be your forever friend. I also have a bachelor's in music engineering (achieved at the tender age of 30) and I was working in studios around the time music transitioned from tape to digital, which was where I discovered my next obsession: Computers.
I should also introduce Missy and Rory. You will probably see a huge amount of them if you follow me. I feed them and they keep me sane, which is the best ROI of any kind that you will see. The eldest, Missy is also the tiniest. She is a spoiled rotten queen who sleeps under the blankets on my feet. The giant ginger monster is Rory, who has his own baby bjorn because he insists on sleeping upside down in my arms and he is too damn heavy otherwise. But I do have other interests...
So I've thought a bit about this new platform "post Twitter." It's a little odd since "everyone" is not here (yet). All anyone has to go by is my few meager posts, so I figure an introduction is in order... to my 7 followers, here's the basics: I was born in 1963 so in Internet years I am already dead. I've been an electrician, music engineer and for the last 20 years a programmer. Now, I make stuff: beer, wine, music, woodworking, art and CNC videos but mostly I provide a place for cats to nap.
Working on some deck boxes today.
