I can't think of a solution for the Israeli and Gaza problem. I want children in both to be able to grow up safe, have shelter, food, an education, and to be functioning adults. I just can't think of any way to peacefully come to that outcome. I hope that somehow I'm proven very wrong, and we can find peace.

Mastodon is the only viable option for a true twitter alternative.

- It's older than both Threads or Bluesky

- It has a continuously growing user base

- It can't be owned by a single entity

- It can't be monetized

- It has no ads

- It has no algorithm

- It's open source

It's the only social media platform that actually resists all the things that have ruined every other platform. And I imagine we're still in the *very* early days of Mastodon adoption.

@ccferrie Clearly they don't have to operate under a HOA. Lucky them. My wife did something similar in our yard and it is wonderful, and there are those in the area that hate her for it. Good for them.

@flexghost I'm still waiting on the militia part of this. Sure, you want to be in the National Guard and play by those rules, then you can have National Guard weapons.

I quit my job yesterday. I am fortunate to have another job lined up. I was nervous about quitting, as change can be hard. However, staying where I was unhappy is even harder. I was told that I impressed everyone I interviewed with, and after a years of searching I think I have found a home. Now to finish the transition, have some vacation, and start something new. Life is good.
