Love the little details from Apple: if you're using an analog watch face, the clock within Widgets is analog, and if you're using a digital watch face, that clock is digital. ✨
Back in the home studio today, and I'm so excited for my first year ahead as an independent designer. Excited for what's to come! πŸ™Œ
Time Capsule nostalgia. πŸŒ€πŸ’« I recently picked this up for cheap on eBay, replaced the drive inside with a faster 4TB HDD, and it's good as new and now backing up all of our home's Macs.
I’m five weeks into being fully independent with Baseline, and I think it’s true what they say: working for yourself is 60% communication/emailing and 40% actually designing. It’s been a huge adjustment, but I honestly couldn’t feel happier now that I’m settling into it all a little more, and am excited for the projects ahead in 2024! ☺️
The bad news is I'm running out of RAM all the time. The good news I have an excuse to upgrade to a new Mac Studio soon.
Without a doubt, Rdio was the app that got me interested in design all those years ago. Missing it every day. πŸ’”

Tomorrow is Election Day in the US, including in my state of Virginia where the entire legislature is up for grabs.

If you can, PLEASE make it a point to go vote. So much about many folks' liberties is potentially at stake, most notably abortion rights. These state and local races can make a big impact.

Kicking off a design system project for a big new client this week and couldn't be more excited! Grateful every day to love the type of work I get to do, especially now that I'm independent. πŸ™
I still think often about how great this ad campaign for the iPod shuffle was.
iRun, iCommute, iRelax, iBike.
For the past few days, I've been working non-stop within Figma to help a large brand create their first component library and eventual design system while listening to podcasts and music. So far, I couldn't be happier with how the independent life is shaping up! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™
