8/8: Eighth Diary Entry May, 1498

The pivotal voyage of reaching Cipangu has come to a sudden halt and I return with impenetrable feelings of vanquishment. Lamentable tribulations have fired at our harmony, from all directions, and my heart throbs longingly, shot by the affliction of sorrow. Although I must remain positive, I fear that my fate has already chosen its course of destiny.

β…ž: Seventh Diary Entry August 10th, 1498

The port city’s familiar silhouette came into view, as the Matthew, a wind-worn, but unvanquished ship, navigated the final path of our homeward journey. At length, our vessel descended its anchor into the nostalgic waters which I was accustomed to; marking the end of our maritime adventures.

6/8 Diary Entry: July 7th, 1497

After weeks of enigmatic exploration, our quest for the elusive Asian shores has reached its conclusion. Despite the shortcoming of spices, the land was full of natural riches; exotic environments unfolded before us like a story book and glittering waters provided us with fish that had to be taken in vessels let down with stone. Soon we will set sail, our ships laden with the intangible knowledge and experience, which will mark history.

⅝: Fifth Diary Entry June 24, 1497

After a tedious four and a half week journey across the strenuous conditions of the beast that is the Atlantic, we have successfully reached landfall. Before our eyes, bequeathed a foreign verdant landscape, garnished with exotic flora, decorating the land with flamboyant sprinkles of prosperity. The life that inhabited it was bizarre, as peculiar, colorful birds shared their melodious tunes overhead.

4/8: Fourth Diary Entry 23rd June, 1497

The Matthew, a ship small in stature but immense in responsibility, cut though the waves as it continues its westward journey across the vast expanse of the Atlantic. The air is thick with possibility, almost electric in its charge, and a manifold of assumptions have taken over the deck.
Only time will unfold the answers, as my father, Captain Cabot, will guide us with his perpetual wisdom and determination.

β…œ: Third Diary Entry 20th May, 1497

Once again, we are presented with the bright opportunity to set sail across the waters and embark on the mission we once started. A year has passed on account of our suspended attempt, and King Henry has granted us with a second opportunity to Asia. John Cabot, dissuaded, has planned the trip scrupulously for success, as we rebound stronger and smarter. We are bestowed with another opportunity, in which we will succeed.

2/8: Second Diary Entry March, 1486

We set out to make history; a voyage into the unknown that promised riches and discovery; and we return with the weight of disappointment and the sting of thwarted ambitions. An army of waves were sent in our direction and our unity transformed into a discordant storm. Nonetheless, I rest assured that my father, John Cabot, will triumph and rebound stronger than ever before.

β…›: First Diary Entry 1496

Today marks the last day before we set sail out of Bristol, England. The year was 1496 and we plan to navigate westward, across the north Atlantic Ocean, to the fabled lands of Asia on the consensus of Cabot’s predictions over the shorter route.

After years of yearning and dreaming, the day has finally arrived where I, Sebastian Cabot, will embark on a journey into unknown waters alongside my acclaimed father, John Cabot.
