@politicsusa46 It has the qualities a formal portrait (Leica’s 90mm Thambar is a soft focus portrait lens) but it was a candid catch, so the Emily’s loving gesture and expression was not posed. She wasn’t even aware I took the picture until after the fact. I don’t often make formal portraits because what lies under the surface can only be seen when the subject’s guard is down.
@philcee Mammatus clouds are wild. Like great brains across the sky. Someone silly I know calls them ‘angel butts’.

@krishooper It is an incalculable loss. She had a devastatingly beautiful voice and was part of the most interesting indy rock band I’ve ever encountered. Mimi Parker, vocalist and percussionist for the band Low, died yesterday at age 55 of ovarian cancer. I’ve worked with Low here and there since 2004 and I can’t believe she’s gone. #RIPMIMI
