Happy Thanksgiving!

Me and my siblings are having Thanksgiving together with our families this year and I was tasked with cooking the turkey. We soaked it in a brine for 24 hrs and now after applying a rub, it's on the smoker. Gonna be a good one!

My dog pushed the backdoor open yesterday, and a bird followed him in. Little guy was pretty stressed and kept running into the windows. Using blankets as barriers, we managed to corral him back out the door.

I know I'm a day or two late here, but I hope you all had wonderful Halloween!

Our decorations turned out good. However, I was hurting pretty bad that night with knee and back pain, so I put a bucket of candy out so I wouldn't have to keep getting up to answer the door. Some little shit in our neighborhood stole the bucket.

HELL YEAH.

It took 8 YEARS (with a lawyer) to get to this point.

For those that don't know/remember, I was in the Army for 15 years and was given a simple medically unfit discharge for my back when I got out - five years from hitting 20 - with no retirement. An army buddy pushed me to have them review my records again.

Should have retirement orders from the US Army within the next couple weeks. 🎉

The eclipse from Western Washington was barely noticeable with the naked eye through the cloud cover. It did however create a good filter though for some phone photography. Still had to do some selective edits to make it show up a little better.
