Nebenan bei Twitter wusste ich nach einer halben Stunde, dass es in China gerade große Proteste gibt, vielleicht die größten seit 1989, dass eine Gründerin der Mütter der Plaza de Mayo in Argentinien gestorben ist, dass eine britische Kolonie im Indischen Ozean noch existiert und die Menschen für eine Airbase vertrieben wurden, und ihr Land zurückfordern.
Davon wünsche ich mir hier mehr.

The colors are original: this is an #autochrome, using the first process for color #photography invented by the Lumière brothers in 1903.
The women are unknown, but I can't help wondering how they fared a few years later in nazi-occupied Paris.

Since Mastodon saw its initial popularity circa 2017, I've noticed that most users and those reporting on it either don't think about the Fediverse as anything more than Mastodon, or treat its history as beginning with Eugen Rochko and the beginning of Mastodon. In fact, Mastodon is the latest in a long line of federated social networks going at least back to Identi.ca, and though I wasn't around for all of it, I find this history pretty interesting. erste #mastodonia-erfahrungen: ich mag es. natürlich habe ich meine liebgewonnene timeline noch nicht vollständig, ein listen-system muss ich mir erst basteln. dafür sind viele alte kontakte wieder aufgetaucht. verblüffend: ich bekomme ständig neue follower, ohne zu wissen woher.
