Great weekend at PyOhio! Listened to many talks that informed, inspired, and showed me how great the Python community is! Some people I really enjoyed listening to include: @jessicagarson @gkapfham @chrisjrn @calvinhp as well as Eddie Mitchell, Denise Williams, Vignesh Iyer, William Horton and many more!! Very thankful to the @pyohio organizers for putting this event together! Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous as this was my first event I've attended. It was a great experience!

I Dockerized my FastAPI app – and it was a rollercoaster. 😅 From containers refusing to run to finally getting everything working across Mac and Windows, here’s what I learned!

Back in early march I was lucky enough to share the #fossbackstage stage with Christoph (https://github.com/GBKS) of https://bitcoin.design/ to speak about contributing to the https://opendesign.guide/

I've personally created resources through my many OSS roles to help designers new to OSS get involved but the opendesign.guide evolved that work into something co-created and community owned.

Watch our talk here: https://bit.ly/FOSSBKST25

Talk blurb:
Designers often have a hard time seeing open-source as a place they might be comfortable in. So we are building a 12-chapter guide to make these journeys easier. It starts with a basic introduction to open-source, the role of design, how to get started, up to more advanced topics. The ambition is that the guide can be used for solo learning, group learning, and educational environments. It's a 100% open-source project, fully built in public. We are hoping to present it to you in this presentation, open up the space for conversation and feedback, and welcome contributions.
