I'm genuinely curious to meet people who have had a great experience on #mastodon so far.

I am a big believer in the concept of the Fediverse and non-corporate/billionaire-owned social media. I remain skeptical that it will gain enough traction to be a truly viable replacement -- though I want to be wrong about that.

Serious question: What is the appropriate response when you overhear a neighbor having a domestic dispute that sounds...very concerning? I don't (ever) love the idea of calling the cops but I'm certain that doing nothing would be the wrong move.
You will never achieve leftist goals by piggybacking on a right wing policy.

I don’t want to alarm anyone regarding Mastodon but something strange just happened to me.
I started following a poet here on Mastodon two days ago. I really like his work. I had never heard of this poet or seen this poet ever before. My first and only interaction with this poet was here, two days ago.
I sign into Facebook, and I’m suggested this poet. This is not a coincidence. How does this happen?

Today’s poem is called ‘Fixtures’. It was written for a previous men’s football World Cup.

As for this one - given the allegations of corruption, Qatar’s appalling human rights violations, and the deaths of 6500 migrant workers - I’m not sure I’ll be watching any of it.
