@ColmDonoghue That's fair, but marks in the dirt feels incredibly primitive. There has to be some middle ground when you are playing in a game of centimeters.
In this first set between Djokovic and Khachanov, the ump was wrong on two critical calls. They need Hawkeye. I know having umps judge by marks in the clay may seem prestigious, or traditional, but it's just low rent and messy.
Khachanov is currently beating Djokovic in a similar way to Stan Wawrinka. He plays with great depth, great weight of shot, and hits consistently. How his record isn't better against Novak escapes me.
