@tsvenson @cobratbq that doesn't seem to mention maga. the lack of it seems interesting, given he was clearly republican?

@headius It sure is interesting.

To be fair, that seems to be a kind of game of telephone. Asking humans to redraw something they saw purely from memory would also show some interesting skew, I think. I don't know how much it would translate to using it as a coding assistant.

@simon I wonder if it was confused by the Kashmir G20 summit in news reports it was trained on?

@timbray I was looking for a new service last week (to move off Readwise' Reader), and the front page of Newsblur made me think it was abandoned — the front page style and its pictures of phones look more than a decade old. I didn't bother trying it as I wanted something still maintained.

I'm demoing it now and it does seem fast. I've got no issue with compact, '00s visual style, but I do wonder how many potential customers they miss with the very-old iPhone pics on the front page.

@Hacksaw @thesiswhisperer @pluralistic sadly even if they don't add an LLM, the web will be filled with its content. I'm not sure how they can filter this out and still allow distributed web of small sites? People are openly mentioning doing it on the bird app:

Reasons for historians to be concerned about Threads winning and killing Twitter: Twitter provides access for the Internet Archive and allowed my project full access to download up to 10 million Tweets a month related to COVID and Saskatchewan. Facebook and Instagram block the Internet Archive and don’t provide access to academics. Twitter owned by Musk is terrible and not currently providing access for new Academic projects, but Meta is also really bad for archiving.
