I recently acquired a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B to host a couple of Docker containers. Even though I had power available in my closet, I decided to give the PoE+ HAT a try so I only needed to connect a single cable. I would not recommend it, the coil whine from the fan on the HAT is audible even through a closed door. I gave up and switched to a USB-C power supply. It's an extra cable, but it's worth it for my sanity.

I finally got around to putting some small personal projects under source control, mainly Python scripts, docker-compose YAML files, and Alfred workflows. I considered using #github when looking at self-hosting solutions, but decided to try #gitea (https://gitea.io) instead. It was trivial to install in a Docker container on my NAS, the setup workflow is fantastic, and it's extremely lightweight. Perfect for my needs.
