@paulisci My grandmother was a flapper, and later involved in the sly grog trade during prohibition. I am proud of her contributions to the decline of civilisation, as evidenced by this thread. I shall seek out some of your other work.
@RhondaBracey Much sympathy! Definitely a “think of the money” job. No fun.
@fopaws Not sure what you mean. Are you in dark mode?
@fopaws Hi Jane, I rarely post here, but I’ll wave at you.
The sharing options in apps on my iPad & iPhone have added a link to Mastodon recently (or made it more prominent? not sure). Haven’t checked any of the laptops. Good to see.
Both of our NetAtmo weather station rain gauges failed earlier this year, after years of withstanding wild weather and tropical sunlight. Eric had hoped to salvage enough parts to make a working one, but no luck. So last week he went low-tech and bought an old-fashioned $10 clear tube with markings. It may only last one summer, but that’ll do. He just has to remember to go out and record the amount and empty it each morning. It’s like having no TV remote!

We’ve been notified of a planned power outage on Thursday, 8:30 am to 2:30pm. Our new Tesla storage battery will get a good test that day!
@RhondaBracey Welcome! I’m not active here yet either.
Time for me to get back to work on my next Sekrit Projekt: a new (non-fiction) book. It’s been outlining itself in my head for weeks (with some going into a file), but the words have been slow to assemble themselves into paragraphs, or the paragraphs into something vaguely resembling a logical order to describe and discuss the topic. I could almost claim this book has a plot - or will have, once it develops a bit more. 😊
