@jcampbellva75 Trans identity is a fundamental rejection of the mechanisms of control that those in power wield over us. More than anything else, trans people demonstrate the capacity of the individual to define for themselves life and joy. If trans people exist and can, by their own will define themselves, then there is no reason to buy all the ideas that capital sells you as definitive. Trans people scare those in power because trans people are so much more powerful.

Any idea why #trans people are always the easy target by the right wing? Why #trans people are considered the canary in the coal mine with forthcoming persecution of marginalized people? Why #trans people are subject to such extreme violence? Because their own #LGBTQ community, the community that is supposed to support them & defend them is just as wrought with sickening transphobia as the general public is. Like a predator on the savannah, hate always targets the lone, unsupported prey. 1/2
