@pemensik You are right, reproducers are very valuable (funnily enough not so much for Mozilla where I filed a bug with reproducer and they didn't even try but requested a memory dump).

And yes, sometimes fixes are easy. What I meant is that you sometimes have to think your way through the code and the paradigms so it costs time.

@bubacarrsowe Don't understand this — how can you submit a fix needing the same time as submitting a bug report? It's a different amount of work.

The fix has to be reviewed. So this cannot fully solve the maintainer fatigue problem.

BTW I've read that there are practically seperate internets, e. g. in South America, in China, between USA+EU etc. (Frédéric Martel, "Smart", Enquête sur les internets).

Probably even in South (!) Korea there's one distinct set of classical web services available and popular (though they of course have Facebook and in many many countries Microsoft Windows is dominant)

-> Well, three modes come into my mind: 1. Follow the standards you perceive from others. 2. Actively discuss/co-define the standards globally 3. Define the standards for your sphere (kind of decentralization, in case global coupling ceases).

Firefox is usable anyway (you can configure a lot), though I would immediatly switch back to Opera 12 (probably many sites will work) if only this wouldn't be a security problem.

This considerations hardly include thoghts about environmental sustainability. After pandemic I will talk to people in-person and not sit in front of my computer. So role of browser may decrease.
