Has the #dnd marketing team jumped the shark yet?
@janboddez For bulk updates, at least, you could avoid spamming a million Mastodon posts by having a transient that says “yep, I tooted” that expires in like 15 minutes. In theory that should throttle the Masto posts to one at a time. It still doesn’t solve all the use cases, but maybe it’s a baby step…
@janboddez is it possible to identify and block mass updates from posting to Mastodon so at least that case is handled? I have a hard time believing that if you updated 30 posts in one go that you would _intend_ for all of those to be shared at the same time. Maybe like a threshold only one thing gets sent to Mastodon at a time or something. 🤔
@JaiBop sorry I don’t have any real links to share. Roots has a whole ecosystem and some of it I appreciate and other stuff I don’t use so much but they’ve been doing Composer-powered WordPress for a while. Lots of prior art and documentation on their site.
@JaiBop you’re probably going to want a build pipeline that handles your composer install, nom install, gulp/webpack, etc. GitHub actions works for this but you can also use CircleCI or Travis. The database stuff is always going to be a thing in WP which is why that’s built into the dev->test->live workflow with Pantheon.
@sereedmedia I have used Edge on a Mac but it’s never my first choice so it’s like…why. Bing Chat isn’t motivating enough. I can use Bard without having to open an entirely different browser if I want something not ChatGPT.

I wrote about an experiment I did a while ago to “jailbreak” ChatGPT using George Carlin. Sadly, I don’t have the logs anymore but I felt like I should still post the results. 😅

“Jailbreaking” ChatGPT

After the wild ride that the early incarnation of Bing Chat sent Kevin Roose on, I’ve been fascinated with this idea of these language-learning algorithms expressing things that feel like emo…
