Genuinely have not a goddamn clue who these peo... oh shit I know who John Legend is!

... and nope. Not them. Or him.

I love watching the Grammy awards because it's an incredible, wonderful, reminder of how old and out of touch I am.

Quasim's summary on Bluesky was better than this one.

"2022: Massachusetts enacts a 4% tax on millionaires. Critics predict catastrophe.

"2026: MA sees 39%⬆️ in number of millionaires, $5B⬆️ in new revenue, & MA is bottom 10 in poverty.

"Taxing the wealthy creates more wealth. Taxing working people creates more poverty."

If I had the skills, I'd create a script to send this to Gov. Ferguson and everyone else in the WA legislature once a day, every day until we enact something similar in Washington state.

Stop listening to the whines of rich people who will never functionally notice being slightly less rich. They'll make noise about leaving the state, saying how bad it will be. Some might even go somewhere else. Most won't actually bother, and the end results will benefit _everyone_.

If you are a parent of a young child that is into Legos, be ruthless about keeping all those pieces together. It's wild how much retired sets run on ebay. Sheesh
The only way "AI" coding assistants are going to put you out of a job anytime soon is if you rely on them so much you lose your ability to understand and reason about computer programs.

30 Years of Programming at 44 Years Old - Blain Smith

And now - because "my brain" - all I can think about is throwing together a TiVo Series 1 sleeper build, with full peanut remote support.
It's going to have to die on me before my household waves the white flag. We have 4 TiVo minis -- client boxes -- scattered across our place and everything still runs off the one Roamio in my office.

Been looking forward to this podcast episode - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7ZVusx-5rM. "How TiVo killed live TV" from the Verge's "Version History"

They discuss the rise and fall of TiVo and what made it so perfect.

Here's the thing - I was there at the beginning (had a Series 1) back in 1999, and I am *still* clinging onto my old-AF Roamio to this day. Still have a cable card. Still rocking the peanut remote.
