I really do prefer August, as summer months go. Nights when we can open the windows come more frequently, the corn is in season, the golden hour arrives sooner, sleep comes easier as the sun sets earlier, and fall just feels...nearer.

I'm always struck by how many people seem to hate August. It is by far, for me, the best of the summer months.
