Scientists Build an Itty-bitty VR Headset to Better Study Mice

Researchers at Cornell University have developed ‘MouseGoggles’, a miniature VR headset with eye-tracking for mice, which was used to study complex behaviors during neural recordings. Traditional small-animal VR systems have been limited by their size, immersivity, and lack of advanced features such as eye-tracking. Road to VR

Something that has showed up in our standup at work.

I would say it is quite descriptive of the difference between the two approaches 😂

@Wifi_cable This is the cable I talked about yesterday when we were discussing security.

Just printed a 17min Benchy. Ok, heavily hand-tuned vendor profile but still - HOLY SMOKES!

My other printer would take over an hour to do the same - and in worse quality. 🤯

Oh but that's not all - the switch itself broke off the metal case of the fan the moment I have tried to turn the plastic shaft! This is how a 40€ "quality" product looks like, apparently.

The plastic of the switch is so brittle it is falling apart at the slightest touch. Aliexpress sells these switches for 0.43€, delivered. I wonder why...

But hey, the metal can of the fan is at least earthed, even though it uses wire nuts for connections inside (is that even legal in Germany??). 3/3

Power/speed selector knob has split into two/fell apart on literally first use - notice the wisp-thin plastic! 2/3

I have bought some cheap 18650s (pack of 2 for 5€) at the Friedrichshafen HAM radio convention just for kicks and put them on my smart charger. Well, let's say that there is a good reason they are cheap. (full discharge/charge cycle @ 1A current). What a piece of garbage...
Looks completely like BUGA already (starting this weekend ...) #mannheim #buga2023
