For anyone interested in older assistive technology (namely screen readers and speech synthesizers) I am now hosting a mirror of the Vintage Access Git repository on my website. The original can be found at https://github.com/nstockton/vintage-access, and the mirror is at https://datajake.braillescreen.net/vintage-access.

Does anyone know where I can stream M*A*S*H? I recently got into the series with two days to spare of Disney+/Hulu taking it down.
I’m beginning to love the series. I don’t know why I didn’t listen to it all the times it was up.
Just came back from the rose parade. weather Decided that it would be in the rain.
The last year that happened was 20 years ago.
A very great time with the audio description Los Angeles team, describing all of the floats.
Now, watching the Rose Bowl game, Indiana versus Alabama.
Happy new year!
Bonnie and I are very touched that so many Mushroom Fm listeners have asked us to bring our live new year show back.
For those who aren’t familiar, here is the story so far.
For many, many, many consecutive years, and in other years before that, which all amounts to a voluminous quantity of years, I have hosted a new year show on Internet radio. It started even before Mushroom FM, and long before Bonnie and I were together, but Bonnie and I have hosted the show together since 2013.
It’s good to have an excuse to throw an Internet radio party. In the past, my excuse was that New Zealand is one of the first countries in the world to see in the new year. We beta texted the new year, so most of the world could be assured that all systems were working by the time the new year got to them.
We were very honored that people would tune in from around the world for this tradition that happened once a year, annually, and yearly. We would even get people tuning in who lived in the US Eastern time zone, even though the show used to start at 3 AM in that time zone.
Well, as history records, last year, the new year’s show was absent and silent, while mixers, microphones and party supplies were sailing across the oceans to a new land.
We can’t beta test the new year for you anymore. There will be many countries who experience 2026 before the new year makes it to Baltimore Maryland. But we can promise you a fun party broadcast.
So, yes. After so many requests to do it, how can we not? We are exploding into 2026, and this time it’s at 9 PM US Eastern time on December 31. It’s a much more civilized time for many of you, but sorry, that does make it 2 AM in the Kingdom of U. We’ll play some great party tunes, get the all important munchies delivered, here from some friends around the world, and then, at midnight, something new. We’re going to stretch the technology a bit, and try to go live from the rooftop of the Mosen Maryland mansion, so you can hear the fireworks blasting over the city of Baltimore to welcome 2026.
You would be very welcome not only to tune in, but also to be in touch. Tell us some of your highlights of 2025, or if there haven’t been any, why you’re glad to see the back of it and what you’re looking forward to in 2026. Are you making any resolutions? If you make a global public commitment, who knows, it may even strengthen your resolve.
You can be in touch via email, or on Mastodon using the #MushroomFM hashtag. Be sure that your posts are set to public, so they make it to the hashtag.
We’re looking forward very much to bringing back this tradition, with some cool new twists for our present time zone and location.
We’re exploding into 2026, live and exclusive to Mushroom FM.
Just ask your smart speaker to play Mushroom FM, find it in all the radio apps, or listen online at https://MushroomFM.com from 9 PM Eastern on new year’s eve. You can check the Mushroom FM schedule page to find out when that is in your time zone.

merry Christmas from the West Coast! I’ll be traveling later today from a friends house by train. Pretty pouring down rain here.
#mushroomfm I like anything with Bob Rivers. I never slept at LAX, but I’ve traveled to LAX in the nighttime. #mushroomfm
@Melissa no happy Birthday! You sound great! #mushroomfm
