The Conversation U.S.Health insurers are using AI to decide whether to cover treatments recommended by doctors. These tools can delay or deny care that should be covered, all in the name of saving money.
(And there’s no public information on how it makes decisions, and no outside testing to ensure they're safe, fair, or effective.)

The Trump Administration changed how $12B in in already-appropriated disaster aid will be given out. The goal is to speed up recovery, but the changes remove rules against discrimination and requiring energy efficiency and stronger storm-resistant construction.

Jessie Simmons applied for a teaching job in a Detroit suburb in 1958 and didn't get it.
She was rejected 2 more times in 1959, while the district hired white teachers with less education – but she didn’t give up and got a job offer in ‘67.
