I really wish that the "Report spam" button in the SMS app on iOS/Android had a region-locked option to automatically forward the message to NCSC's 7726 phishing report number. Almost nobody in the general public knows it even exists.

Looks like the US FTC might be up for making a move over security, which should have UK&IE ICOs watching closely. The CMA should really be examining this situation already.

If Twitter were to be forced to make the site at least nominally interoperable, that would pave the way for a lot of escapees(and presumably similar consequences for Instagram?)
I'm not holding my breath, but the introduction of ActivityPub or even the return of RSS feeds - would reduce the stranglehold on both collective information and community the social media sites have.
Right, but there isn't a regulator that can meaningfully intervene, right? Maybe the CMA and equivalents could, but the stupidity and dangerousness would have to surpass an exceedingly high bar to make a difference, right?
