@whatanerd Wage before taxes is a scam. Also different things in the US are way more expensive, also location and whatever. Our teachers get, or are supposed to get, 2200€ before taxes, so that's 1750€ after taxes. Which is still above average wage. But cost of living is horrible now, everything doubled in price, and if you live in a somewhat important city, you should write off 600€ off that because that's going to your landlord. And food is going to be somewhere around 40-80€ a week. And you're still a public service worker, so your wage is probably frozen by the government even though a lot of shit is going on out there.
If they can't break even in their country, let them complain.
